This whole thing started when Affleck appeared on the PBS show "Finding Your Roots". Imagine his shock and amazement when they uncovered the slave owning ancestor. Well, Affleck asked that this fact be omitted from the broadcast; his request was honored. Now, we wouldn't know anything about any of this if those Sony computers hadn't been hacked and those memos leaked.
Apparently, Affleck didn't have confidence that any person of sound mind would not blame him for something an ancestor who lived in another time and place did. But, even with his charitable work in Africa, and living a life that is above reproach in the area of race relations, he still felt that uncomfortable.
I'm here to say, that if anyone takes issue with Ben Affleck over the actions of long dead ancestors, they are not of the aforementioned sound mind, and should be ignored.
So there, Ben. Relax. We got this.
